The third major boss is unacceptably bad
I’m honestly surprised. The bosses weren’t exactly my favorite part of the game for how visually overwhelming they can get, but there at least it felt like I was playing something with intent behind the designs. The dragon was absolutely a highlight of the game for me too, I cannot get over how satisfying it was to go through each phase of that fight.

Ring a ding is just awful. The second phase being an autoscroller is fine enough, but what I assume is the final phase needs some real serious reworking, and I hope this message reaches summitsphere because I really do think it’s possible to readjust a few parts of this section to make this fight much MUCH more fair and still challenging.

The attack pattern where the three bells fire outward from the center and rotate counter clockwise: when you’re bouncing around the blue bells to avoid the lasers, it is WAY too easy to bounce upward when coming back down into another laser. The answer to use the ground pound helps avoid the bounce, but you’re placed in stunlock and are prone to get hit anyway. A solution that might work better is to have the blue bells respawn quicker after you bounce off them, and have the lasers rotate in the opposite direction after you’ve bounced over them already. The challenge is then to stay airborne by bouncing off enemies. The less time in this phase, the better.

The second major problem is that any bell about to attack right before the boss fight ends will STILL deal damage while I’m in the cutscene. I’ve died three times this way and have to clear the boss fight a total of four times now. This is an unbelievable oversight and is extremely frustrating.


Honestly I’m in the middle of doing this boss now and I’m just straight up not having fun. I know that the switch port is getting a lot of love right now and I just hope that a little reworking on this particular part of the game is considered.

1. Use the fast fall in the tri-laser attack or jump through the center of the formation
2. The cutscene glitch is being patched, still trying to figure out the source of it
I was also having the issue where after hitting the one bell while coming down from the tri beam, I would accidentally hit the farthest one and get hit.

But the solution is to literally just ignore the second to last bell and hug left. Once I did this it became one of the freest sources of damage in the fight

Wait you can jump in the center of the formation.

GRHAGH. really it's the only major boss up to that point where you have to wait to damage it, at least in the final phase. That's probably why it's so annoying cause you can just get multiple phases of not dealing any damage.

Thank GOD for the mid phase checkpoints cause I would have given up if I had to redo the whole fight for that.

Well I'm not going for Cracked cause I wasn't having fun with the fight. I'd rather Crack Freako Dragon... wait is Cracked like a hard mode or something?

I took 179 damage while fighting Boss 3 which was like a 600% increase compared to every other boss up to that point lol
Didn't Tony state that the game is meant to be hard on Twitter (X)? Tony also said "Think more Crash, less Pizza Tower"
The last phase is the worst part of the game
So I made a little discovery last night - its not a game changer but it does take a LOT off how much you have to coordinate at once - in the third phase after you strike a blue bell, you’re suppose to hit it once it starts rolling on the ground with X’s for eyes…. But they’ll eventually launch themselves in that state after a bit, sorta being once less thing you need to coordinate at once
