after battering ram....
I went to the fort in the swamp. built the battering ram. killed all the guards. while looting the guards, 3/4's of them disappeared. not sure if this caused my issue. anyway, quest line told me to return to Hans. I returned to the castle and talked with Hans. the only option I had from him was 1.quit. don't know if that was end of story line or what. any ideas on what to do next?

You where very close to end of act 1. But there is probably a bug. Hans should appear in front of the wooden castle and give you one more quests.

We will look into it, thanks.

P.S when act 2 comes, you will not have to start over.

You got Hans? I thought maybe that was just the end of the game since he didn't even appear for me. I saw the marker showing he should've appeared outside the palisade wall but nothing.

On Old saves he might occur inside of the ram.
