Secret crab island (spoilers)

So I was exploring the sea caves by Pantry and I found this sign next to a well, written in the Payn alphabet and translated what it said. I typed MORNAY and it opened a portal to a secret crap island.

I looked around, but the only thing of interest was a giant crab, that can only communicate in sniping/clamping sounds. I think its in Morse code. Has anyone else discovered this place? I would really like to figure out this secret.

I was on this same track as well. My best guess is it's Morse Code. But I don't know how to decipher it. There are a lot of possibilities for each letter. Of the 8x3 snips and clacks he gives, there could be combinations of one, two, three, or even four snips/clacks to work out whether it's a letter. It's cryptic.

You are very close with Morse, but I wonder if there is another language that can use dots and dashes... Or 1s and 0s...

I used a binary translator and the only output it gave was "hex". That doesn't seem to mean anything.

You may have mistranslated the last letter. Spoiler alert: It's HEY This is the best word to use to befriend all crabs, small, large and giant!

if you want to keep the spoiler train going you might want to put spoiler on that Binary translator of yours

the hint that got me towards cracking it was that its a language that uses 8 "characters"(letters)

Well, it's binary and the first three sounds mean lower case which isn't relevant.
