Where is ratty
I scoured the swamps 10 times, said "ratty" 100 times and never saw anyone reacting to the name. Just where the heck is he?

He's not far from the fishing ponds if I recall correctly.

I'm at the point where I wonder if it is a bug where he's not spawning (unless i totally missed an area). If someone has a screenshot of the map spot of where he hangs that would be super useful!

If you have talked to Ratty's dad, he is 100% spawning, if you warp to "pools" or find the fishing pools, its the closest nearest room when you exit (to your left as you exit)

Oh damn, so hard to keep track of places. Are there plans to show on the map what doors have been visited previously?

I found ratty. Can't find his treasure though...

Yeah I get completely lost as well.

The lack of overview map is compounded by the fact that there's no compass AND the mini map rotates with you. It's extremely easy to go into a room, stare at a skull riddle for 3 minutes, and then completely forget which door you came in.

I ran around in circles looking for Ratty for so long because I kept missing the area of the swamp he was in.

I will add a toggle in 1.034 to disable minimap rotate.

Usually dungeon crawlers add tiles to the map as you visit, the fact that all is revealed by default on the map and that all doors are shown the same way whether you've open them or not is really what makes exploration difficult for me ( the fact that there is no color and that areas of the same region look quite similar does not help but fixing the map would be enough to solve the problem).
Rotation alone won't really fix it tho it's still good.

are the pools even accessible to the time you meet ratty's dad? or are they a later thing. i haven't unlocked fishing, i don't know what "pools" are. it's not teleportable yet

You'll meet his dad before, hands down. Only route to get to the pools is past him (if you are trying to talk to every rat you see). You'll get the teleport once you find the pools..

Just so anyone reading knows: for me the note/drawing was not on the wall, but there was a little white dot on the mini map letting me know there was something to do in that location so I just typed "dig" and it worked as intended so remember that your drawing MIGHT BE MISSING and you'll just need to know it's next door to the fishing pools in the spot that has an indicator.

I'm searching for Ratty's treasure atm. I absolutely love the game so far, but I do get extremely lost and I'm finding that the enemy respawn timers are perhaps a *bit* overtuned. I would be kinda-sorta fine with bumbling around trying to find the dang treasure if I could just walk freely, but I keep failing the perception check (or I'm just not looking in the right place) and it gets too much with the repetitive combat which also exhausts resources. This particular bit feels like the bad parts of NES adventure games.

With all this said, I adore the game and respect the heck out of what you've created.

The treasure is marked on the map, and as I recall actually in one of the non combat areas near Bonetown or whatever it's called. Only 2-3 screens away from Ratty.

Thankyou! I was scouring all the walls and not seeing anything and it was driving me crazy. I remember the dot and wondering why there was nothing there!
