Eye of the behold EXP cheat

I got stuck half-way through eye of the beholder because I missed one key. Is there a way to boost my characters EXP so I dont need to play through the entire game all over again?

I'm guessing its the same key I missed 20 years ago first playing. It was supposed to have been picked up on the prior level of the dungeon. Ended up giving it to myself through a hex editor, but don't think I saved any of my notes about it.
