Maybe the character had "too much" EXP, passed a level milestone and now the game is still waiting for that milestone to be reached? Or some idiotic programming mistake to that effect.
I guess you could always backup the saves and hex edit the character to fix his level.
Dwarves.
In 2nd Edition, Dwarves can only reach level 10 in Cleric.
Dang it, i completely missed this mechanic and that's exactly what's happened...my dang cleric is a dwarf and has plateaued..
I've looked into this as well, and couldn't find anything explaining how to hexedit save games files for Eye of the Beholder 3
Yes, older games didn't usually point out everything and came with manuals that you had to read before playing.
It's conceivable that the racial level limits weren't properly in place in EotBII, but were put into place in EotBIII (which was made by a different developer). So you managed to get past 10 in EotBII, transferred an "illegal" level 13 Dwarf Cleric into EotBIII, and then couldn't progress anymore.
That also probably works differently in III than in II. If no one did the work of figuring out what's what, it would require a whole lot of testing to figure it all out on your own.
I guess you'll have to make it work with the levels you already have.
