Any reason this version is gimped? I am missing teleport, reveal maps, the editors etc..
They did the same with the Goldbox games. Basically anything that is full out cheating they have removed. You can easily fix this by just downloading it from the web and copying over the files in your steam folder. Occasionally they features (teleport) can get the player into problems so they probably didn't want to deal with the support issues. (or they just really don't like cheating?)
My memory is fuzzy, but i thought they hid the char editor under a right click menu? I definitely used the editors to fix a stat glitch I had.
There is no right click in GBC.
There was, but I had an add-on to the mod that gave me custom music and the editor, now that I looked it up. Vanilla doesn't have it.
Also, right-click does work, you have to alt-tab out of the main DOSBox window and then right-click on the actual auto-map to get several new options.
Then *don't* start the game with the All Seeing Eye and instead run it from the new folder you created. There's a tutorial on how to do it on the website (https://ase.zorbus.net/) and all I had to do was point ASE at the right save file (which for me was in Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Forgotten Realms The Archives - Collection One\games\Eye of the Beholder ENG\GAME\EYE).
Edit: This worked for me but it erased my mapping progress. I later realized I could run multiple version of ASE at the same time as long as they were in separate folders but pointing to the same save file. I used the full version to make the tweaks I wanted, closed it, and then proceeded with the steam version.
But I was able to continue my adventures
