These releases also contain a launcher from which all the games are accessible, and the manuals, cluebooks, etc are accessible.
The actual games though are no different than the GoG releases.
Yes. Basically mods that come installed, and they are great in Collection 2. The Eye of the Beholder games, I think those just have an automap. The Pool and Krynn series however, have the additional features and an almost JRPG-style character bar showing XP and other things etc. The icons even dance when the characters level up, like Final Fantasy. The coolest part may be that they show all the status effects on your chars, and you can hover over enemies to see their detailed stats. I played Pool of Radiance back in the day and mapped it on graph paper, also in the blind about a lot of statistical stuff. This version is awesome, even the launcher is great.
You can download the mod separate and play on GOG. It's called the Gold Box Companion, and I can't stress how great it is. Whoever made it deserves a medal. It also lets you use custom mp3s to add dungeon, combat, town, victory music etc.
