Online Players Keep Dropping. The game will die soon?
https://steamdb.info/app/1881420/graphs/

Based on steamdb online player keep going down. idk on the switch version but because this game is not cross platform. at this rate, this steam version will die soon.

If you only play story mode. I think you won't worry about this. but for players who want to play multiplayer, this will be a nightmare.

I think Bushiroad needs to revamp this game or change the way to sell it.

If there are no players online, it means that the dev will not be updating the game. TCG game without an update, you know what's coming next.

What do you guys think? let's discuss here.

I think nothing, just get friends who play and the game will never die. I have some people I play with regularly, we all get on and do password matches. Not only that but as long as you can find another player on ranked then the game's not dead or dying and I still find duels very quickly, there will also be spikes in players as each dlc comes out and people try to complete new decks, so if they have a season pass 2 and so on then it will never die, again.

It's a cyclical thing due to a current lack of active updates that is usually reminiscent of live service games where the company keeps on pushing you to play via dailies and events.

Don't be fooled by live service game trends; those numbers are always propped up by F2P mechanics and don't necessarily indicate player Outlook. I mean just look at Elden Ring. Does that mean it's a bad game?

As long as the new set DLC pushes through, this isn't a problem.

This is what happens to EVERY game. They release, usually the playerbase peaks and then it never reaches that again. This was all to be expected.
There's nothing to worry about, it's a 2 player game and the ranked queue will match you against what seems to be literally anyone. If fighting games have taught us anything, even if people jump ship with ranked, there will always be discords to find matches anyway.
The game will not die until the next game in the series replaces it, and even then it might not depending on how much people like that new format.

Yes, though for Dear Days, there is a bit of an issue with the actual number of players itself. Elden Ring currently has like a 24 hour peak of 30k, Dear Days has a 24 hour peak of 495. If it gets too low, proportions stop mattering as the actual number begins mattering more.

I've actually had some issues getting matched the last time I played. Took a good 5 minutes. I really hope this game ends up having a sale soon that can hopefully boost player count.

The price also has a big impact. Few people actually bought the game, so you can really feel it when the initial hype wears off. When the steam promotions start, a new batch of players will enter the game and renew the ranked.

it just released, there is a 60 day period where no sales can be applied typically if you read steamworks documentation on game discounts. expect discounts to take until at least next year.

Switch is definitely in a far better state since it's cross regional. Most the people I play are Japanese, so I assume it is considerably more popular and active there.

Someone needs to figure out how to mod this game, and/or the game company needs to make it crossplay between Switch and Steam. It not being crossplay for the amount they're charging is just dumb.

I'm pretty sure it is on PC too. Plenty of JP players around.

It doesn't hurt that Yuki's VA is doing online fan fights either, Dear Days online is probably going to break that day (I forgot the exact date)
