Question about DLC

I guess only 3 people bought it, so I don't know if others can answer. So when it says you can get Aichi, Ren, and Kai, it says you get their recipe and character. Does that mean its the only way to get them unlocked or can you eventually work through the game to get them unlocked?

The DLC was mostly marketed as "you can rush to get things", but the characters and the sleeves seem kinda like...I am not sure?

More than 3 people bought it... You get 3 extra characters to fight in Fight->CPU Battle as well as other stuff related to the charas like a deck recipe for them & being able to change your avatar into them and so on.

The only things you can get in-game DLC wise are the "rare card sets" which to me seem like they're for people who don't have enough time to grind out the VP (which is very easy to do) and/or just want a full set of cards to build their decks with right away if they're already familiar with the game. (those are also the only DLC's i haven't gotten myself).

sorry, poor phrasing. I meant 3 people left reviews (2 not quite english). I just got it, I haven't played the game yet though. I am not going for the card sets, but I do want characters.

That said, I thought I saw somewhere that you could change characters in the story, but I think I misread it since I can't find it and there is no option for it. Is the "change characters" only for the pvp/online mode?

change characters is only for your online/main menu fight identity, not story. for the story you're always Yuki.

This was wrong. You CAN change story and characters.

mo you can change character in story but its only yuki,rasen,yuyu,danji, and touya. each have their own story so you cant usr the others in other stories

That wasn't what I wanted to know, I just wanted to know if you could change characters in the story and it turns out you can though. It's not the "main story" but you do swap around characters and can do other things, that's what I wanted to know. You made it sound like I could only switch my avatar for online battles

i left a review to hopefully help people, but unless you want to use the character as your online fighter its kinda eh, the deck recipe is useless since not only does it not come with cards youll want need to tweak it anyway to be competitive.

about the rare card sets, they do NOT give you a full set of cards, just 1 of each SP rarity card in a given set. No where enough to make a deck with just that.

The card DLCs are kind of a "pay if you're lazy." You can easily unlock all the cards in game just by playing, and you'll be rewarded cards as you progress through the story doing the Main and side fights. You can even get RRRs by doing it. I'm not sure if it's random, someone could probably post a guide on what cards are unlocked after every fight.

Thanks for your responses, but neither of those things are things I was concerned with. I am aware. I just wanted to know about getting the characters themselves. You do have to purchase them to get those characters unlocked for free vs mode

1 of each allows you to craft the rest of the SPs at half cost (1200 SP for non-foil for instance) at least, but yeah idk, I prefer DLC for stuff you can't get in the game normally like the top 4 DLCs with additional cards & character packs, as well as the sleeves

for the record, you can still get the cards, its only the fighters and sleeves that are exclusive. Also some of the craft cards are 21,000 CP. I wonder if it was a typo, but probably not, since all of those cards are SP rarity that feature anime characters
