Help me understand the story/ending (spoilers)
Ok, so, the 1st cult — comprised of the town’s religious leader and his followers — wants to get the three Caloga blades in order to… what? They want the fallen angel to help them preserve the dead man’s soul in the woman’s body. And they’ve summoned the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, to the Unworld and into the clouds. And, because Mordimer Madderdin (the player) drew a blank card from their sacred deck, they think they can substitute him for the third Caloga blade which they’ve failed to acquire.

The Countess was a being of light when Jesus was crucified, but Satan or somebody hijacked God’s plan and possessed Jesus and forced him to break free and avenge himself by murdering people and then proselytize a hateful, twisted version of Christ’s teachings. When this happened, all the beings of light were transformed into vampires. Christ’s true teachings are perverted, the truth concealed in the body of the being in the Unworld called the Murk.

SHE wants the Caloga blades to kill the Murk and reveal the true, good teachings of Christ. But she lacked the power, and, to gain more power, she gave in for the first time to her vampiric thirst, and ever since she’s craved human blood, murdering people.

When we (as Mordimer Madderdin) drive the Four Horsemen out of the Unworld, we unwittingly allow the Murk to eat them and grow more powerful. He’s going to … do something bad? I’m not sure what. Now that he has absorbed their power.

But it turns out that some female angel was concealed in the body of annoying-Amelia all along, and she intervenes and drives the Murk away, but she’s kind of a jerk and won’t even reanimate the petrified annoying-Amelia.

Is that about right?

I strongly second the wish or, more like it, need to get explanation about the story and the different choices/endings. I just completed ther game in one of the various ways and I am just blown away by the creativity and density of the plot and all the story aspects! But they are also a it confusing, I get the feeling that the game was designed to get a dark ending either way and I would love to have some clarity about the ingame "truth" because it's obvious that many characters are lying or being manipulated themselves in the game. Developers - please enlighten us! ;-)

hey, It's best to play each ending so you can see the differences. This makes the good ending even clearer in my opinion. There is also enough space to interpret meanings, not just the pure story plot as an action in itself. Take your time, it will bring you much more value than a simple explanation. I think this also closes a circle of plot, meaning and what the developers have created. Pay attention to the words Mordimer says, pay attention to the little things in the margins. That's a big part of what makes the game so extraordinarily special <3

The cult basically consists of religious fanatics who interpret the teachings of Christ to their own ends and are convinced by them. They want to cleanse the earth and then rebuild it strictly according to faith. Reuchlin uses his influence to strengthen the cult and ultimately wants to be the sole ruler. The "Dark Lord". Similar to our history.

The three blades symbolize power, Reuchlin wants to use it to dominate the world, the Sabbath wants to kill the "remains" of Jesus in order to achieve the goal given by God in their view, and to be the Jesus as we know him. I think the cult would still have to kill Jesus to bring the apocalyptic horsemen into the real world, because that's what the blades are used for?

The blank card means that Mordimer can take on any role, he is pure, he plays no role on the story level. The two parties simply try to abuse it for their own purposes. In the best case scenario, they see him as a supporter because he stands for God's will. It is also said that there is much more to him and he doesn't know it. Do you see hints about Amelia? Orphan, the light he brings into the world, the angel is not his guardian angel. And the way he behaves in the last outro, the end justifies the means ;) you could think he's the only one who behaves "right" and does what God gave him. One might now assume something.

With her order to destroy the mask, the angel violates the commandment by interfering in earthly actions/fate. She doesn't resuscitate her because she was the purpose and that would be "ok" so to speak.

The Murk, i.e. the “leftovers” of Jesus, also want to plunge the world into chaos and embody evil. Mordimer was supposed to be the key to the real world.
That's a quick assessment :)

You said do the other endings but how to get others? I mean choices in the confront scene vs Liliana and cult do not allow me to refuse joining them I reached this part and they told me to join them and I joined against my will.. Do I need to repeat the game from the scratch to obtain other endings? or repeating specific quest or scenes?

Hi, you trigger the endings through the voice dialogues in the game. You can know your path by praying at the shrine. "nothing" "cross" or "broken cross" appear.
