Insulting Jesus + Holy Mary = NOT Ok

Now I only played the demo. And this is a really interesting game concept. I would have bought just to support the developer. Got a similar vibe to Sunken City by Frogwares which is also a dev I support on principle.

BUT

There is absolutely no reason to be portraying Jesus(pbuh) or Holy Mary in the way this game does. It is sacrilege and insulting to believers. This should not be in any game or work of art.

NO reason why they could not have had an inquisitor and medieval Christianity as it was. Plenty of books like Malleus Malificarum(Hammer of Witches) they could have sourced for this book without blaspheming Christ or Holy Mary. Plenty of real inquisitors and witch hunts did happen. There is enough blood, torture and gore there to make 10x inquisitor games.

However the developer chose not to use real history and instead created this terrible, perverted version of Christianity to base their game around.

Now I am a free speech junkie, I don't believe in cancellations or bannings, so I will not go so far as to make complaints to Steam etc, but I will not be buying this game which I otherwise probably would have done.

I suspect I am not the only one with these sentiments.

1. This is based on books, and a rather popular ones in Poland. 16 to be precise.
2. Terrible and perverted is every religion.
3. Farming steam points is even worse.

Dont get me wrong. The game is utter garbage and way overpriced at the same time (10h to complete it) but not because of some imaginary controversy that only help advertise it.

Sorry but religion should not have some special privilege that excludes it from being portrayed in the way it does in this game just as it should not be protected from criticism and mockery. You have the right to be offended but do not have the right to not be offended. Likewise you have the right to practice your faith but do not the right to have your faith impact the life of others. I am thankful that all you can do is get on your pulpit and complain rather than torturing and murdering heretics as those of Christian faith did in the past.

You all missing the point of the story and that is hilarious. It does not matter if Jesus is peaceful or some revenge seeking uber boss. The outcome is the same. Its all about the outcome. Inquisition still happens, murder on a scale in the name of religion. That is the point. Nothing changed. Are You angry about it? Because it seems reality was even worse than anyone could imagine.
