Yeah locking on to yours enemies is a new mechanic in more recent warriors games.
When you're getting juggled in the air press one of the character switch buttons to active a support attack that's the only way to save yourself but its not 100% proof but yeah for whatever reason there's no air musous in this game.
Air Musous was a feature introduced to DW8 which came after WO3U.

You can also special by pressing RB, i don't know what it is on keyboard, but it can help out sometimes. A also works as a dodge, but it's finnicky and I can't figure out the specifics.
And i doubt they added that feature in this port, as usually these ports are just to get it to PC + a version with all the DLC.
No more DW7 this was out before DW8.
Not quite in DW7 characters could learn a second musou attack for some characters it was a second grounded musou where you needed to press R1 and cirlce but for some chararcters they got a musou attack that they could use in mid-air
