PC Issues Log
One effort to consolidate port issues in one thread

Was running the first hour on a 2070 super, AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core, 144hz refresh rate, 1440p. Game is capped at 60 no matter what resolution (can go to 4K).

All the pre-rendered cutscenes are much, much darker than usual. I personally can barely see anything.
Ma Chao's musou causes black, pill-shaped artifacts on all enemies that come into contact.
Wang Yuanji's EX attack and 4th Y animation effects do not operate at 60 FPS, so there is a delay in the depiction. Rocks and Light basically animate at slow motion and follow the character until the animation is completed.

I read one way to fix Ma Chao's musou is to force monitors to run at 60 Hz.

The only "issue" i had is that the in game cutscenes are in 30 fps and sometimes they become out of sync with the voices and sounds, and that for some reason the cutscene voices are really low compared to the music. It seems they are actually trying after so many years of awful ports.

Port seems fine overall, but the game keeps crashing when playing the pre-rendered cutscenes (this does not happen in the game's intro for some reason). I have to skip pre-rendered cutscenes every time or else the game freezes at some point in the cutscene, even when accessing them through the gallery. Aside from that, it's running perfectly. I also didn't get the Ma Chao bug.

One issue I found is that sometimes when you look at the specific parts of the stage the game drops 10fps. It has nothing to do with the number of enemies onscreen. Yilling map and its Stone Sentinel Maze is a good example. On one turn my fps always drops and when I look the other way it stabilizes.

Then again I think PSVita port had a similar issue if I remember well.

Adjust your monitor??? I haven't felt like I couldn't see anything. Other than where the enemies are on the 25% of my screen that isn't clogged up by ui being an inch away from the edge of the screen
The forced horrible unity vsync is also a big issue. On deck it's bringing the fps down to 56-57 if kept at 60 it runs terrible, horrible frame timings. If you don't change the mode from fullscreen anything below 60hz causes massive juddering. Changing from fullscreen and reducing hz to specifcally 56 gives the smoothest performance. It is far from a great experience on deck. If they could remove the forced v sync it would be fine.

I get massive juddering whenever I boot the game on deck, regardless of screen mode, but if I change the mode to something other than he mode its on (fullscreen to windowed for example), the unplayable judder goes away.
I also agree the vsync implementation is a disaster.

I mention this because the brightness was just fine when navigating menus and playing the stages. It was only on the pre-rendered cutscenes that the brightness was noticeably darker than the previously mentioned.

I didn't encounter that bug in WO3U yet (just finished chapter 1) but I did in the steam version of DW7 and one of the maps it did that was the stone maze one.
Don't remember if the PS3 version of the WO3U has that as well.

If you're having issues with the cutscenes then according to https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Warriors_Orochi_3_Ultimate_Definitive_Edition the cutscenes are .wmv files so it'll be a codec issue try downloading K-Lite Codec Pack:

I updated K-Lite codec pack, didn't make a difference. Pre-rendered cutscenes are still freezing the game. Thanks for the tip anyway.

Weird problem: on my laptop dedicated radeon 530 the game gets stuck at the intro movie, just won't play it and go over it - I installed all K-lite codec pack still nothing. Really weird. But on my integrated Vega 3 it works perfectly - on the same machine! Really weird.

It gets stuck always on the same point of the same movies/voiced dialogues (I tried installing k-lite full and updated my graphics driver to no avail), for now I'm playing the game skipping all cutscenes and watching them on youtube...

yup, the game always freezes at the same point in the cutscene (only in the pre-rendered ones, in-engine cutscenes play fine). For example, here the game always freezes in the first story cutscene when the hydra head first appears, always at this time. I really hope someone finds a fix for this, or we get a patch.

A few experiences of mine so far...

- During battle, the sfx and character voice grunting volumes are not balanced well. Sfx volume is incorrectly tied to voice volume in cutscenes.
- When I bring up the pause menu during battle and exit by pressing the Back button, I hate how it sometimes accidentally does a musou attack. Very annoying. I never had this problem with DW7XLDE.
- My game crashed 3 times in a row. All 3 times occurred at the Ueda Castle battle when I was about to fight Yuan Shao. It seems to crash when things start to get crazy on the screen.
- I'm kinda bothered with seeing Xbox button prompts. Does KT not realize by this time that half of all controller users have Playstation controllers (PS4, PS5)? An in-game option to choose which prompt we want to see would've been welcomed.
- Yesterday when I played the game for the first time, I had the Ma Chao musou visual bug like everyone else. I ignored it for the time being cause I just wanted to play. When I played earlier today, the visual bug was somehow gone. I didn't change my display refresh rate to 60hz or anything. Not sure how it fixed itself.

Okay, so the black visual bug has somehow returned for me. I've been playing around and testing stuff like changing various graphics options and also trying it in normal and Big Picture mode. In the end it seems completely random if the bug appears or not and it lasts until I quit the game, at least on my PC. Guess I'll just have to set the display refresh rate to 60 hz every time I play.
