this game is wuxia.
wuxia is a more grounded fantasy where they can do superhuman feats with martial arts and qi but its all restricted to the central plains (china) or planet. its sorta.. more "believable" i guess? more character development, even the strongest is still ultimately mortal and will die eventually from old age.

xianxia is high fantasy where they aim for immortality via alchemy and such, flying on swords is a common ability there and they all can decimate countries with one hand. eventually being able to traverse the starry skies and destroy planets with ease.

is there not immortality (to age at least) via one of the cultivation methods?

And Yuwen says he can take by himself on an entire army by the end of the new route which I think is quite beyond any Wuxia dude.

There are no gods or DBZ level stuff but still way above any wuxiaish stuff. The techniques are basically magic even if not city nuking or above.

Most wuxia settings don't allow for immortality or magic. It's kinda like the idea of magical realism, where they do things that COULD happen, like throw a punch so fast that it burns someone, but you can't actually turn a person to ash that way. So you can jump really high but not fly, or massive extend your life but not make yourself unkillable.

wuxia is still magical but not overwhelmingly high level powerscaling fantasy, they're still ultimately restricted to one continent/country/planet, the evergreen method doesn't grant immortality, it just greatly extends their lifespan with internal energy.

xianxia on the otherhand has them aim for immortality that lets them live as long as heaven and earth or stay alive even if the universe around them collapses, slay magical demon beasts for their cores to use in alchemy, flying on swords and casually destroy planets and galaxies with literal hand waves.
