iron body, turning your skin, muscle, bones & tendons into some thing stronger than then metal. you should be on par with most lesser demons by now.
the immortal body stage, where you work on your internal organs and blood.
at this stage demon are considered weak. v this is the lowest stage for most elder and masters, even greater demons and the lower demon lord are weak to these guys
the transcendent soul stage is when you strength your mind and soul. by now all but the truly apex form of the demon race can be one punched, with barely any trouble.
typically this peak of the lower plains or the outer lands where the weak cultivators, lacking in cultivation resources or where the mundane folks live.
then you move on to the more central part of the kingdom where the land is stronger and richer in the stuff need for higher form of cultivation.
that the 3 level of the first stage of cultivation or physical body refiner stage. demon don't really have a soul, so they can never truly climb higher then that stage.
so when you move past the body refiner stages..... ... the not much point.
yet the cultivation changes with the source martial your reading, so this may fit some but not all, cultivation story's. but that mostly why demon are not an issue, there mostly seen as beast to kill for stuff you can use to cultivate with.
but that not to say some thing could be added if the lore of wandering sword permitted it.... as i said each story or mythology of cultivation is different.
Xuanhou Cult and Condor clan cultivation can be considered as Demonic Cultivation. Condor Clan cultivation even quite bloody and evil
That's my understanding at least. I've read some light novels, manhua's/manhwa's.
What I want is something like this:
"In The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber, the Ming Cult is also known as the "Cult of Mani" (摩尼教; mó ní jiào) to martial artists in the jianghu but its more common name is "Mo Jiao" (魔教; mó jiào), which literally means "Demonic Cult". The cult originated in Persia and spread to China in the seventh century."

In many novels I've read the "Heavenly Demonic Cult" or "Demonic Cult" is a strong religious evil cult that has its very own cultivation technique. They're pretty much the top enemy of every righteous sect on the Central Plains.
A story revolving around the Ming Cult would be so cool as a big DLC. It could bring many new techniques etc.
Like, you can feel however you like about the choice, but they plainly just chose to refer to them as "evil" and not "demonic"; the meaning, in context, is identical - they're the rivals to the Righteous sects who don't abide by their rules.
The thing you want is already in the game, you just don't like the terminology they decided to use for it.
Yes, Xuanhuo Cult is basically Ming Cult from "Heaven Sword & Dragon Sabre", or Sun Moon Holy Cult from "The Smiling, Proud Wanderer".
