Problem with quest "The Massacre: The Clues"

Good day.

I finished Chen Linxi person quest before quest "The Massacre", and now I cann't get Chen Linxi (spoilers, but he left the party) and to progress the quest I need to speak with him (and he, ofc is nowhere to be found)

Is it possible to remove the task "Talk to Chen Linxi" if you finished his personal quest?

in latest patch notes they said you can't finish the quest after Chen Linxi's thing occurs, so people who already have quest but can't finish it will get option in future patch to abandon quest

Dang now we got to worry about missable quests too lol.
I'm glad I didnt go and do his quest thing.
I had to ask him the massacre question while he was in my party, and I'm glad I was able to remove him from the party and he shows back up at his martial club... Asked him the question and re-invited him back so I can finish his other quest.

I forget when it happens, but on an errand for another quest I walked into Pinkkang City, and that Chief guard at the entrance by the horses was getting harassed.
If you take his side, Chen will show up and offer you to visit him.
While visiting Chen, try and win all the fights, and you'll get some great rewards, but after all of that is done raise his affinity to 60 and you can invite him.

Not sure if you can get him before that though.

Sorry that you are facing this issue - Yes our recent patch would rectify this issue, however if you already have the quest in your quest log, I'm afraid you can't complete it at the moment :/ We'll look to add in an abandon quest option in future updates. I dont remember the rewards exactly but it wasn't anything worthwhile. I'm more interested in knowing if there isn't some alternate ending because the dialogue seems to imply that Yuwen was manipulated but it's not clear to me how exactly. Maybe with specific characters recruited and in the party?

Late to this but I think if you have Leng Wuqing when you finish the quest he will help reveal the truth of the situation and you get an evasion pill.
