How much character customization is there?
Are there classes, feats, skills, and/or schools of martial arts to acquire for the main character? Are they mutually exclusive?

I'm still figuring out a lot of this myself, but basically there are skills tied to the weapon you choose. You level all of these skills up. Additionally, you have meridian points that are used to boost stats, with like 6 or 8 or something different ways to improve the stats, and each of those has scaling as well (eg. boost MP, then boost Qi acquisition, etc.). I am still learning the systems, but there's a lot going on under the hood.

Hi Lord! Thanks for your question. There are lots of different ways to customize your character! There are classes, skills and you can join a sect :)

For classes, there are no restrictions on the main character. You can also learn martial arts from teammates and discover new sects to learn their martial arts as well!

Uhmm you might wanna rephrase the "you can join sects" part since you are hardlocked into one.

Anyway mc is unique in that he can learn all weapons (which is kinda pointless since he can only use one type of weapon at a time). He has his own unique internal style and has access to a lot of skills and martial arts through teaching (which your companions can't learn). So he can basically combine martial arts of different sects provided they are on the same weapon.

Hi Eut!

Yes, apologies on this. The reason we phrased it this way was because

we were afraid this might be a story spoiler

However you bring up a good point since it might be a bit misleading, so sorry as this wasn't our intention! And we will rephrase it. Thank you for pointing it out to us :)

Yes. It is misleading. It would be better to say "you can learn from various sects" instead if you want to emphasize the other sects.

Thank you for the feedback Eut! Moving forward we'll learn from this and avoid misleading players on learning from other martial sects :)

I am only around 5h in so these suggestions could be unnecessary. Firstly, the foundation of the game is strong and the story is good so far too. However, a little more complexity in some areas could go a long way.

Weapons: I generally like the variety of different move-sets within a weapon type. It would be a level cooler if there were move-sets that required multiple weapon types. So like a sword skill that had a prerequisite of a proficiency in hidden weapons and behaved a little differently from both, for example. At present it is simplest to pick a weapon and stick with it, which I predict might get little stale. Some ability to customise your move-set towards end-game set ups with higher requirements could be very appealing to some. It would allow for an refreshing progression between move-sets that isn't fuelled by boredom with the current one (not the most exciting motivation).

Speed: An option to increase combat speed would be cool. Likewise for world map movement speed - or just generally increase that. Maybe if everyone has a good lightness skill. You can't reduce the delays between entering places/fights, but you can reduce the delays between getting to them.

Story: I hope there are options to betray my companions. Not because I particularly want to yet, but because it could add an interesting element of choice into the game. For example, turning Bai Jin into the Beggars sect and then having him turn up and steal something important from you later on could be hilarious.
The option of invite or ignore is not the most interesting choice because you are capped at 5 companions, so the choice ends up pretty similar to what may end up as invite and then ignore anyway. I am going to focus on only a few companions but pick people up for quests and story elements. If I am already viewing some companions as expendable, then a game play choice to represent that would be appreciated.

Hey Potato Monster,

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts! We're glad you like the foundation and story of the game. Your ideas about weapons and combining move-sets sound interesting. We'll take a closer look to see if there's a way to spice things up.

For combat, we have an auto-battle and sped up battle options in the works, stay tuned for updates!

About the story and companion choices, it's an intriguing thought to add more depth. We'll discuss this to see if we can introduce more engaging choices in future updates.

Thanks again for your input, and happy gaming!
