Warning Possible spoilers : Sects to join

From the main story quest it seems like i can only join Wudang. Is it possible to join other sects? Can i just ignore the main quest and join other sects and still complete the story?

I wanna know too. From my 5-6 hrs of gameplay, the main story has been EXTREMELY linear. Which stems from the fact that the MC got saved by someone, and being the generic righteous martial artist he is, feels that he must repay the debt. Which just hardlocks you to the wudang sect.

I ignored the main quest and just went to do side quest , companion quest and exploring and that part is really enjoyable. I saw a reply to another similar topic, and mentioned only Wudang is available as of this current version, while they will consider adding in more options in future updates.

So to answer your question, this is a possible spoiler:

Yes as of now, Wudang is the only sect you can join in the main story, but you can still learn skills from the other sects!

Huh is it really you "can" join and not you are "forced" to join? Being forced is a lot more disappointing than just straight up not joining.

I would like to support that point: there is a main story, but apart from that, it does feel like an open world. Before going to that sect, i did so many side stuff and got a lovable party. I feel like choosing any sect (or not!) should be optionnal, and we should have several choices. Joining a sect should not be part of the main path, you should be able to refuse, especially as this sect seems specialized in one weapon in particular (which i didn’t level up at all while doing all these numerous side quests).

Being forced into this one and not being able to join others was a huge disappointment for me. It’s a big zone of possible improvement, even though the game is probably isn’t built for that.

Understanding that the sect is part of the main story and it is complicated to change this, but perhaps adding options such as the sect having a master in each weapon and giving the possibility to choose your weapon path. As well as the possibility of obtaining a legendary ability regarding your chosen weapon, I think it would help a lot. It would also be good if you could make alliances with other sects or wars, moreover pets, your own house...

I would really enjoy being able to join the Beggers Sect. I feel like that should happen more in martial arts media.

I would be lovely if this game has a sandbox mode that you can join any Sect. but understand this is not the main point of this game.
Side quests are plenty and nice but you can complete them very quick and it's ran out at the last section of the story.

please fix join other sects. i very like the game but wudang is't my favorate sect

I had the same thought as many of the people above after finishing the game. I would really like there to be a option to join either the Beggars Sect or Shaolin which could be easily done in place of the Wudang sect for the main story. I would like to see if you could join the Xuanhuo cult too but that would probably require a lot of work due to the level of the map.
