Troupe History - how to trigger

Hi, I've started the quest Soulwrecking Bird - Overture. Before I zoned into the Beggar's Sect HQ, I saw Uncle Yu walk off and the internal monologue said I should go speak to Zuo Jianglong first. Well, that's what I did , and I also picked up the other side quests in the HQ. I zoned out of the HQ after and tried to look for Uncle Yu but couldn't find him anywhere. Also went to the inn and spoke to the waiter etc but no luck.

I know the Troupe History quest is important to later events but I'm not sure how I can trigger it... any idea?

For the main quest, I'm still at "Becoming Martial Disciple"

He is at a village nearby. Just to the west I think. Irrc the one with the mine

Bit late but I was having the same problem.
The way I fixed it was by speaking to Li Yuanxing at least once before leaving the HQ. I did the other three quests before hand so I'm unsure if you need to do them to trigger the event.
