'97 Tian Long Ba Bu is GOAT!
I grew up watching those too. To this day most people I know still prefer the older versions. Even the recent Donnie Yen movie (Sakra) while it wasn't bad, wasn't great either.
Love Wuxia/Xianxia movies/films.
One of my favourite is still The Storm Riders(Wind & Cloud/Feng yun) 1998
But yeah, shame the mainland version suck, even the CGI and effects aren't as impressive for some reasons, and too much slow mo.
