[0.76ab7 ver] A Makeshift Guide about how to enjoy what's there

0.76ab7 Update:
The game has fixed a lot of the freezing bugs in the game, so feel free to explore as you wish. But please make sure to save often just in case--there are some known freezing bugs the dev has mentioned.

(Please avoid negativity in the comments if possible. Suggestions for changes are welcome. I do enjoy the game once you figure out a mostly functional way to progress.)

General tips:

Detailed Map

A quick map for reference. I made this because I keep forgetting the opening times. Has character residences, list of shops, and the opening times I managed to find. Will take down immediately if devs think it's inappropriate.

Cutscenes/phone calls are triggered whenever you pass a specific location on the street map or inside buildings.

BTW there are small arrows beneath the Sunny street middle exits telling you which direction you're going.

DO:

- Save often. You can save in Salty Hounds office and with the computer on 2nd floor at home. Autosave is relatively good enough after Week 1, since it saves every time you sleep in bed. Loading is a bit buggy at time but no major issues.
- After first protest scene on sunny street, try using mouse instead of keyboard to move character if keyboard is unresponsive.

FIXED IN 0.76a (I tested them all to make sure)

BUILDINGS THAT CRASH

WINTER STREET: Gym on the very left next to mini mart
SUNNY STREET: Bookstore(?) Restaurant and UFO Games (All the buildings here, basically)
MARKET AVENUE: Big hotel on left
LAPIS STREET: Gun Range on right
AUTUMN STREET: Bar

(FIXED IN 0.76ab7)DON'T:

- Don't let your AP run out. This causes the game to freeze on dialogue box. You can recover AP by sleeping on the interactive benches. such as the one along the riverside. You can then sleep at home when it's late enough.
- Don't click on ITEMS button.
- Don't accidentally hang up calls in the middle of them. Did that by accident and froze the game. Don't repeatedly press the skip button either--once is enough. Pressing it too many times causes bugs

GAMEPLAY

WEEK 0

You start on a Sunday, but there honestly isn't that much to do on weekends. Explore the streets and figure out where most things are located if you can while avoiding crashing buildings. You'll come across a few cutscenes. By the time you're done exploring, it should be evening, and you can go home and sleep to enter WORK PHASE to skip through Mon to Fri. Be sure to pass by the hotel entrance at night for a cutscene.

FIXED IN 0.76ab7There's a blank dialogue box near prosecution office if you don't get phone call from Yujin first, but clicking it through works.

WEEK 1-3 AND ONWARD

- WORK PHASE
This is period where most of the actual story content/events happens other than map cutscenes, at least atm. There will be stat checks--and that's what you use your weekends for, upgrading stats. You regain full control on Friday night and you get paid then. (You'll get next to no money at the start. FIXED IN 0.76ab7 with more reasonable income, but still not that much.

- WEEKENDS
Explore around the map for cutscenes.


LI/NPC you can talk to on random encounters I've had so far: Noru, Taemin, Kitty, Hospital Patient (Sohee), Yujin (apparently, but I haven't met him yet)
Noru, Yujin, and Taemin has voiced dialogue.

You can ask for Taemin's number, but make sure to save before calling him at home because it freezes the game after the call. (A known issue)

Random encounters are kind of difficult to predict at the moment and needs probability adjusting, as the devs mentioned. The lazy way to refresh random encounters is going between flower street and riverside since you can see the character immediately at riverside.

For stats, I suggest passing time by either:

- Cooking at home (but be careful, this uses 20 AP instead of the 10 AP shown)
- Spending time alone on the home sofa to increase random stat. (For some reason, this doesn't spend AP.) (80% of the time, it'll be Sense, but I sometimes get mobility or charm or otherwise.)
- Read on the Riverside/Cedar Street bench in the afternoon, but not before the day gets a bit dark. You'll lose Wisdom points in the morning.
- Read magazines or economic journals for free in the left building of Office street. WISDOM/SENSE
- Recover AP by sleeping on benches.

In the end, on weekends, I settled into a routine of: Spend time on sofa > explore for cutscenes/random encounters > reading magazines for free in the rival office building just to spite the guy > going home and going to bed.

The calls and story progression is pretty fun so far. You get to see pretty CG/illustrations too as you progress the Weeks.

Was able to get story progression after the building fix update! Heading into the hotel triggers the cutscene I was looking for

Update: Not sure whether it's a bug, as intended, or I'm missing some kind of trigger, but I haven't come across much new content past Week 4. I managed to get to the end of week 6 without problems by mainly following the rules above.

That aside, it should give players a good taste of what the game is like! (bugs aside).

Sorry for bothering. Do you know what should do next after intentionally set Seha up? Wanted to advance the plot, but went everywhere in the city and couldn't find anything to trigger the plot.

That's what I actually got stuck on as well. I didn't see any progress after week 4, but maybe that's because I couldn't get into the restaurant last time. I'm testing the game right now and will report back if I find anything!

That's where I got up to so far! The paperwork research by Noru is a random event during work phase--I got it three weeks in a row during my first test playthrough.

I haven't had time to test all the cutscenes in the buildings fixed with the hotfix patch, so I can't say for sure where to go next. Some cutscenes are time specific, only during the day or at night. What I'll do is test run 3 or 4 weeks after the newspaper scandal and see whether I make any progress. I did one week this morning and unfortunately haven't found anything new just yet.

I'll also update the makeshift guide with cutscene locations and dates I found them when I dive back in! It's taking me a while since I'm doing two playthroughs, one fresh after 0.76a and one old with my save file from 0.75a to see whether that changes anything. (Also checking for game crashing bugs while I'm at it.) Will update the post when I get around to that!

Yeah I could only interact with Noru and Kitty. I also hate him but my hate for him makes me want to force him to fall in love with MC and regret all his rudeness XD

OOPS sorry for the late response! Like you said, it's "in the wild," it's like trying to find pokemon--completely random. Every time you change over to a new map, whether it be a street or a building, you draw a lot. If you spawn a random encounter, the character will show up on a fixed area of the map.

The only way to find your shiny pok--I mean shiny man is to switch over maps a lot then walk over to the spawn area to find them. This gets pretty tedious, so what I do is go back and forth between riverside and autumn street.

I suggest 2 methods:

1) Keep walking left on flower street and hold down the left button key. That's it. You'll go between riverside and flower street automatically. Riverside map doesn't scroll, so you can see the random character with a glance.

2) Go back and forth between Riverside and Autumn Street. The character spawn position of Autumn street is actually on the very right edge of the screen when you first walk into it (no need to scroll or walk right), so you can check for encounters over two maps.

You might get luckier than me and find Yujin somewhere. I've read reports of encounters with him but I gave up after an hour or so of trying to spawn the guy. The devs did say they're going to fix the encounter rates too.

One bonus of challenging Autumn street method is that you can spawn the hospital patient and bartender sometimes. They seem to be only on this street, but I can't tell you that for sure, You can talk to the hospital patient, but not the bartender. Cool portrait though.

I encountered Yujin in the wild about 5 or 6 times, usually in coffee shops, and he said the same things each time.

Thank you so much for this explaination! I played a little and managed to find noru stalking in front of my house. Hoho 👀. And then taemin in a coffee shop 💕🙏

They truly feel like shiny poke... ehemm, like rare shiny men with how "hard to get" they play 🤧
