Offering tag no longer visible
I saw this in the patch notes and I am confused, why are you hiding something that it is just possible to figure out?

It seemed to me that the tags weren't just hidden but that the dark offering status was outright removed from a lot of the animals. It made it impossible for me to complete that quest when I tried earlier. There are only so many pheasants and bunnies I could place to be sacrificed to the great tentacle thingy with the majority of animals just left and not being put on the altar.

For me it is visible once I've started the Horror challenge. (latest updated version, where they hided the tag from the beginning).
Probably there is a bug and when you started the challenge on a previous version, updated, and loaded game, then the tag got wrongly hidden.

My bet if you just abandon this planet and start a new one everything will be fine.

Offering is very difficult for me to do right. I have to choose:
- Either I show the tag always, and it means there will be always this tag showing "offering" that doesn't do anything at all unless you specifically pick that turning point.
- Or I hide it, and I can do more with these special tags without obfiscating the UI with situational info, but at the price of being unclear when planning.

I choose the second, because the Dark God is thematically a weird outlier and a mix-up. But if it's too annoying, I'll probably remove the offering all together and put a common tag there, like Herbivore.

The tag hasn't been removed, but becomes visible after picking the Era. Don't forget the cultists either!

@Luna I had some difficulty with it the first few times I'd attempted it. The key is (or was) to get the blood resource high enough by placing as many of the animals marked 'dark offering'. The blood stored can be seen by hovering the mouse over the altar with the pentagram on it. It was the last era I'd completed.

@AbbeyAdriaan I understand (I think), too many tags make it over cluttered and harder to see important information. My only concern was that those animals that i had placed that had sufficed as offerings whilst playing before were largely removed from the offering pool making it difficult, if not impossible, to complete the era.

I can't imagine it's an easy balancing act to work out and I lack the imagination to make a suggestion that would hit that balance right.

Thanks for all of your efforts, I am truly enjoying the game. =)

oooh right! That's a very unfortunate side effect of fixing the tag window. It won't happen again, and it will help me avoid it in the future! Thanks!

What if the era selection screen (and the info screen in the Collection) had a button/hover that would show all of the biotica with the Offering tag? Then folks would have a way of seeing what biotica they might want if they are planning for the cultist era.

Yeah, I guess my issue is that there are many tags in the game that only do something if the relavent other effect is in play. Sure, most of them have more than 1 thing that triggers them, but still, the game is full of tags that don't make sense until they do, and I feel it is bad practice to have hidden information in the game if it isn't random and just causing me to have to remember things each time.
