Official/Vanilla Servers Are [Insert Explitive Here]
I jump back and forth between custom and official servers and mother of God the official and community vanilla servers has some of THE dumbest people I've ever played a video-game with on them. People don't bother taking the half-second it takes to either A.) Look for a name above somebodies head or B.) See if they're wearing the same thing you are before they just mag dump everything they have at you.

The other half of that are people who deliberately go on team killing sprees because they know their name isn't popping up on the killfeed so nobody can tell it's them team killing so they just drop all of their gear to hide the fact they're on the same team. There needs to be harsher penalties on official/community vanilla servers for teamkilling. You can't go a game without being team killed at least 3-4 times or hearing over comms how there's some moron shooting RPGS at friendly birds.

This will force a lot of the serious community members to go private servers. I agree something could be done to stem the tide of these types of players. Something as little as a massive in-game billboard at the spawn points showing the "Douche-Bags of Shame" highlighting their names and force apply a "dunce" cap on their heads for the entire time they are on server lol
The next update is supposed to turn on the killfeed for teamkills. This option can be turned off for servers that do not want it. They are aiming to release it in Feburary.

I agree penalties need to be harsher.

For each teamkill you should get +2 minute on your spawntimer. And I think it would be great if you could get teamkilled without penality once you hit a teammate. Because plenty of times I get shot over and over again by teammates being to dumb to teamkill me from behind. And sometimes I just gun them down properly in self defense to make it stop. Since I am usually max rank in no time it doesnt matter to me. But still leaves a bitter taste to level your rank down a little because you had to shoot a few braindead teammates.

The easiest thing they need to do is increase the time you are kicked out once votekicked. I see too many people being votekicked only to join 15 minutes later and do it again.

I'm not entirely sure how they should increase teamkilling penalties. With the server lag and terrible vehicle physics you can easily kill your squadmates because you hit a rock after a de-sync issue. One time my vehicle rubberbanded into a guard rail and it instantly killed my passenger. I felt terrible. What about helicopter pilots that hit something on accident and they kill the whole team? People will just not drive/pilot vehicles if an increased timer for teamkills is put in.

I think we need an accountwide system that keeps track of your teamkills. That's the only way I see being able to track these bad actors. Have a threshold servers can set where if your account has X amount of teamkills they can't join. Your account's teamkills will slowly "drop off" so accidents don't permanently effect your account.

Do it the way counter-strike does it. Get kicked enough times and you just get soft-banned from the game for 3 days. Keep doing it get perma banned.
