Placing AI in front of attackers
AI instantly shoots upon spawning, allowing anyone camped at the board to wait for people to attack and then place units directly in front of people.

solution: do not allow reinforcements when enemy units are within the trigger range of a base.

This must have been a bug in your case (cases) because for me, I'm not able to place AI whenever there's an enemy nearby, whether it's FIA or other players. So your suggestion is already built into the game. But again, assuming bug in your case.

probably that im outside of the radius at MTA but end result is the same they can see me creeping into radius and then place just in front of me.

so more likely it needs to have a bigger radius however another trigger zone that is beyond the trigger zone for building may be a bit harder on server fps.

I propose a rather simple solution.... When we call to have AI placed, they'll spawn in the tent as they used to. So, if I place them (the grayed out figures) then they'll spawn in the tent, then go where I placed them, then they'll do their usual "Idle/Auto Interactions". That way, we can't spawn them in front of each other like that, but we can still decide where they go.
