"Attack" objective in Combat Ops Everon
how to complete "Attack" ?

the description before first spawn says:

in attacking the enemy position at Point Kaspar (where is this point - havent seen on the map?), dont forget we only need a diversion. Strike hard, strike fast, and get out before reinforcements arrive.

when i select it as active objective it always points to a very heavy random area... and the description says again;

Hit Point Kaspar, ensure enemy take heavy losses, and retreat - its import to keep them under constant pressure, and limit....

i tried killing some enemys then retreat some miles away, killed all enemys, looked for obejectives to click/activate a trigger... no sucess... anyone got it?

It's bugged. Known issue.

dont think its bugged...i must have forgotten a/some enemies...

because i was able to complete the attack objective with Gamemaster mode by killing 24 enemies... thats a little heavy ai number for a SP run without other Coop players and the new/ really nice Ai imo...

maybe the devs could add a scaling option when you play alone (less enemies) :cozycsgoctwhite:

My buddy and I did this last night. It took us about 30 minutes with the 2 of us. We noticed AI kept spawning until it finally told us we completed the mission. They even spawned behind us, out in the field beyond where the objective was.

I think it is bugged, or if it is not, then needs a revision. In my recent play the attack objective was at the farm in Montignac. I cleared whole Montignac - including the farm - form soviets, even blown up all their vehichles but the objective did not complete. There were literally no living soul in the whole town. Or they were well hidden.

Let's say I did not reach the above mentioned 24 kills - I am pretty sure I did - but the then problem is that the game did not made it possible to me because I ran out of enemies. I think a percentage value would work mouch better and would even be more realistic. For example 50% loss can be considered pretty heavy and could work well.

I posted about this in the questions and answers section. This is 100% a bug. it happens with specific locations it gives an "attack" objective too. I have confirmed this a few dozen times over the last week, every single enemy was eliminated and it still would not complete.

I even did this as a host with Gamemaster and 100% confirmed there was not a single enemy AI in the entire AO and it still didn't complete.

I have found when you get the "attack" objective in the Military base south of Lievie, there seems to always be one enemy that does infact spawn below the ground. But every other attack mission is just broken with maybe 1 out of every 10 actually allowing it's self to be complete.

All of this also applies to the "support attack" missions as well. They will rarely ever actually let you complete them.

I should also probably add that through testing everything i've said above applies to Combat Ops Everon. In Combat Ops Arland the "clear area" missions work 90% of the time so much more likely to allow you to actually "clear" a total play through.

@Sir Lucient:
Thanks, good to know.
Do we have any information about how "Attack" and "Support attack" missions supposed to work by design - without bugs? What should be the completion conditions?
I really hope that the players are not supposed to clear all enemies in the given area.
It wouldn't make sense, would not comply with the mission briefing, and would be annoying and impractical.

So if you type in Fixed when looking for servers you'll see my combat ops server. Everything is fixed, support attack, attack, eliminations. My buddy went through the code and did us justice. He also added recruitable AI, driving AI patrols, additional objectives, more objective locations and supplies with a main base. Truly a good experience. We also added nothing but quality realism mods that don't change the game, like tracers, no falling through the earth and vehicles that don't despawn and more

HEy GustyDann, thanks for the info, it sounds cool. I have checked it out but I have very bad ping as I am in Eurpope. Besides I almost always play in single player mode. If you and your buddy could turn this fixed and upgraded version into a singleplayer scenario, preferrably with no mod dependecies, it would be awsome.
