AP FMJ what the difference in damage?
Have anyone test this? I could not find doc or anyone talking about this either. Mainly I want to know about M14 7.62 and also .54r on russia side too
I been playing with them but could not tell diff but feel like AP little better

AP will over penetrate through body armor and light armored vehicles.
In game master if you put AI in a light armored humvee and shoot the side door panel with FMJ vs AP, the AP will have always have an easier time going through the plates and hitting the target. FMJ is just standard ball ammo meaning full metal jacket for lead or bimetal surrounded by a copper jacket, AP rounds usually have a penetrating core which could be a harden steel or tungsten core to defeat a softer metal material.

Stacking two ai together and hitting them with AP round will pass through and hit both but FMJ will take only one target

Perhaps it’s the server I play, but with FMJ 5.56 I often notice rounds bouncing off armor/mags/guns. Much less penetration; therefore much less reliable damage.

What did they say about FMJ being good close range in the video?
All I know is NATO 7.62x51 is the a best infantry ammo in the game and adding AP on anything boosts it's damage considerably. Even against unarmored targets, those AP bullets will one tap players in body parts that FMJ can't. Then you got the better retention of damage through armor. You'd have to be dumb to use anything besides NATO 7.62 armor piercing mags. I'll upload a youtube clip of some tests I ran through armor in a minute. Its just silly OP.

They are wearing the soviet titanium armor, the best vanilla armor in the game.

NATO FMJ: 3 shots to the chest to down the player and hes only 35 HP left.

Soviet FMJ: 5-6 shots (I kinda shot him on the side on accident) to down the player and bruh still has 54 HP, he'll walk it off.

NATO AP: 2 shots turns him into a wet noodle on the ground with 10 HP left and bleeding out.

Just note the round for the M16, the 5.56 M885, is not an AP round. It does have better penetration than the M193 but by definition it is NOT an AP round, nor is it designated as AP by the ATF.

The 5.56 M993 is AP, but is not in the game.
