Is the Steam version of this game cross platform compatible with the console versions? A friend of mine owns it on XBox and I want to know if I could join him with this version?

Yes, youll be able to join servers that have crossplay enabled which almost all of them do. If you play official gamemodes, youll encounter xbox and ps5 players but for servers using mods then only xbox and pc players.
