How to see in the dark (people are owls?)
Yesterday i was playing one of the default games (russia vs NATO) and it was dark.
The base had no NV in store, or i did not see it.

Anyway, i started to head in the direction of the enemy and i actually got there in the dark.
But then again i could not see jack sh!t and of course was shot.

The enemy that shot me were on foot. I saw someone standing over my body who had no NV on his head either.
So im wondering, what is going on here?

I thought players could not just mess with their local settings so increase lighting.
Are people just that good in seeing at night?
What other place could offer NV at the spawnpoint if the regular arsenal does not offer this?

I love this game and i also love to believe my eyes are still ok, but nightbattles are a no go for me without NV.

I see this complaint frequently but I am not having an issue with it. Some things that can help is to play in a room with no lights, no glare from windows, etc. If you have messed with monitor settings, reset to default. Look for a gamma or dark stabilizer setting. Try different modes like game, movie, video... if your display has those options.

Night / Cloudy and Night / Rain are the darkest but you should be able to see things at some level of detail in proximity.

Thanks for replying!

I did turn off the light in the room, but the screen remains pitchblack mostly.
When prone i can see some of the trees against the nightsky, but only faintly.
The bushes on the ground i could not see.

I was very much surprised at the ease (or what it seemed like) of how people were shooting in the right direction.

I hope to try again tonight.

Yeah. I was running with a guy that says it turns his gamma way up and can see almost everything at night.
Never tried.

If you have not found any settings that help, post your monitor band and model. I walked one of my friend through his setup last night. The adjustments I am referring to are not going to make it like its day. It will just make it so you can see some detail and not walk face first into a tree. He had gamma and dark stabilizer settings. We only adjusted dark stabilizer. It ranged 0 to 100 and 50 was default. We set it to 55. Still looks like night but not pitch black.

Took a while before i finally found a server running night.
I have a Asus MG279Q monitor.
When i opened the menu i could not see a brightness/gamma setting i could operate.
Meaning, i did see the word brightness, but it was greyed out for some reason.

It looked like i could not change anything there that could help me.
Admitted, i was with my son and having a dark server was not entertaining him so i joined another server.

I will look at this again, maybe the game has some more settings that can help.

I always make sure there are no NVG in the ammo arsenal, it's usually in the other one (wardrobe?). Check both before heading out or ask where the heck it is -- someone might answer. It's unlikely (but possible) everyone is running without some kind of night assistance.

I think the NV should be in the weapons part of the arsenal and it's not there.
ANyway i check them both every time, i have a certain routine of equipping myself.

I did have some fun yesterday, playing with my son. I told him "lets see how long i will live if i turn my flashlight on".
I turned it on, walked a few steps and then was shot and killed.
Hilarious.

NVG'S Are in the clothing box of the arsenal, not the weaponry box.
Are NVG'S a weapon? can you shoot somebody, with a pair of NVG's?
no. You wear them. Like clothing.

Fair enough. I would've found it anyway as i check both boxes. In my example there were none.
In case anyone still wants to know;
I found an option in the menu of the screen (Asus MG279Q).
The option GameVisual->FPS mode seems to yield decent results. There are a few more other options which i might give a shot.
