Mods and Mod presets--what is the difference

At the main screen you have an option to update mods (circular arrow) and mod presets (puzzle piece)

Can some on explain what are the differences between these options.

Also why do I (or we) get errors with some mod updates?

Mod presets is a place to create a group of specific mods. You enable the mods you want in mod manager first, then go to preset, create new, name it and then save it. You can then load a preset that has the MODs you want to use.

Don't know about the errors. The only time I have gotten an error with a MOD is if it had not been updated to work with the latest version of the game.
