That´s why VBS supports VR for real troops...
It is kind of the perfect series for it.
Even if only for helo/jet gameplay, it would be a big deal.
It would have to go all the way to differentiate itself from DCS in VR.
The whole appeal of Arma is combined experiences that transitions from foot to vehicle.
I agree it would be perfect match for the series with realism, but the problem is more execution and development along with some technological limits.
Pavlov, Onward and other FPS VR games are great examples of it done right but those are small scale and focused experiences; syncing animations in an Large Arma Environment be nothing short of a nightmare outside of singe-player, even then issues in regular Arma with well defined parameters would only be amplified with the fluid nature of proper VR interaction.
Even then the development of each module would practically need a studio each to be done right. VR tack ons like in Hitman VR looked absolutely terrible, needing to press a button to actually throw an knife instead of actually throwing it defeats the purpose of the whole VR experience.
TLDR: Would be great, but basically needs multiple studios to make it.
I, for one, welcome a VR version/extension etc.
Its been done with VBS...
but it be worth it as a full fledge game that many people wanted in VR, there is a lack of full fledge games for VR. This is there chance!
VRChat has realistic planes and helicopters prefab with VR controlls made by a single man in his free time. They work extremely well. (and he had to create flight model from scratch not only create input system)
