1. Verify Game Files
Sometimes, corrupt files can cause issues with mod downloads. You can do this through Steam:
- Go to your Steam Library.
- Right-click on Arma Reforger.
- Select Properties.
- Go to the Local Files tab.
- Click on Verify Integrity of Game Files. This will check for and repair any missing or corrupt files.
2. Check Mod Sources
Make sure that the mods you're trying to download are from reputable sources. Sometimes, issues can arise from using mods that are not maintained or supported.
3. Use the Workshop for Mod Downloads
Ensure you're downloading mods through the Steam Workshop, which can handle downloads more efficiently than external sources.
- Go to the Steam Workshop section for Arma Reforger and subscribe to the mods you want. This should automatically download and keep them updated.
4. Set Downloads Limit in Steam
- Open Steam and go to Settings.
- Under the Downloads tab, ensure that there aren’t restrictive limits set for download speeds.
- You can also temporarily change the download region to see if it affects the speed.
5. Check Disk Space
Ensure that you have enough disk space on your drive for the game and its mods. Limited space can sometimes lead to download issues.
6. Check for Steam Issues
There might be temporary issues with Steam itself. Check the Steam status page or community forums to see if others are experiencing similar problems.
7. Join a Different Server
If a specific server is having issues with mod downloads, try joining another server that uses the same mods. Server performance can vary, affecting download speeds.
8. Disable VPN/Proxy
If you're using a VPN or a proxy service, it may sometimes interfere with mod downloads. Try disabling them and see if the download speeds improve.
9. Run Steam as an Administrator
Right click on the Steam shortcut and select Run as administrator. This can sometimes resolve permissions issues that prevent downloads.
10. Test Your Internet Speed and Stability
Use an ethernet connection if possible, and consider testing your internet speed and checking for packet loss.
11. Check Windows Firewall/Antivirus Settings
Ensure these are not blocking Steam or Arma Reforger. You might need to whitelist the game and Steam in your firewall or antivirus settings.
12. Monitor Download Usage
Use Task Manager or Resource Monitor to see if any background processes are taking up bandwidth when downloading mods.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, you could also uninstall game then all data and mods will automatically delete then reinstall game and see if it’s still conflicting it from working maybe your trying to use a mod that’s not for that mode or map or it’s locked by the creator due to updating of fixing bugs never the less hope yes sort it out man peace ✌️
