Ive been doing abit of research and i think the reason why there is so few SP missions is because theyre all made with workarounds using MP framework.
For example there is no ability to save a SP mission and squads of more than 4 frequently break down.
You should try the overthrow mod though, its really well made and once youve gotten started there are opportunities to recruit people into your squad although they die very quickly and it isnt a large scale conflict type of thing
I'm also considering reinstalling arma2 and playing some of the old missions I made (which includes a remake of the infamous steal the car from 2001).
Reforger, although I like the improved lighting and visuals, just doesn't seem to have anything for me. it hasn't improved, in a PvE/singple player/coop sort of way, to date.
I think Im done checking back with it and reinstalling every 6 months.
...and arma4 is at least another 2-3 years off from even being released as another 10 year long alpha test bed.
Yeah i feel you bro, the frustration for me comes from the fact that reforger genuinely has potential.
Id play arma 2 again if it wasnt for the eden editor in 3 being so good.
I made a map in arma 2 OA called defence of the aziz. its a 1-4 COOP experience where you defend against 400 AI colnel aziz NPCS.
Peak moment in gaming history for me and the boys in discord haha
Ah, the days of DAC! I used that AI quite a bit back then :-)
