Server requirements for large server?
I am considering hosting a couple of servers from my home. I'm not sure how much compute and RAM I'd need in terms of hardware and how much I'd need in terms of connectivity.
My situation;
I have two Proxmox hosts: one 5800X and one with a 5800X3D. Both have 128GB of RAM, but it runs a bit slowly at 2666MT/s DDR4. Internal network is 10GbE, which I think should be plenty fast. My ISP connection is rated at 1Gbit/s.

Some questions:
How much compute is required for a 128 slot server? Will a 5800X be enough to run a 128 player vanilla server without performance problems or will an upgrade to something like a 9800X be necessary?
How memory intensive is running a server? Will the 2400MT/s be a bottleneck?
How much data will each connected player use up? Can I handle multiple 128 player servers on a 1Gbit/s link?

You can run it fine, my thumb of rule usually for this game with servers is, 64gb of ram, and 5800x3d for 128 players, or atleast that's how I run mine. You might be able to divy it up to 32gb of ram for vanilla, so you can host two servers on one box. CPU will come more into play depending on how many ticks you run your server. If you run at 30 ticks, it would obviously be less demanding on the CPU. But the higher tick you go, the more demand there is on the server hardware. I'd say mess around, and while it's not a exact benchmark, I'd settle on a tick rate you like, host the server on a gamemaster map, and spawn in a bunch of fighting AI, maybe up to 128, and see how the server performs and adjust accordingly.
