World Editor Lighting Questions

Hi all. I have several questions regarding the world editor.

My problem is that after I "paint" my terrain with a texture, like grass or dirt, and I play the level and walk over it, everything is dark. If I walk out of it, everything is light again. When I look up at the sky, also, everything gets dark. But when I look at the floor, everything gets light. This happens everywhere. I have a light entity on the level, is there a setting in it I have to configure manually? Position it above the level? What am I doing wrong here?

My second problem I've noticed is that sometimes in the world editor, my camera can not fly over parts of my map, despite the fact that I have been to those locations before and built there. Is this a setting I need to configure?

I'm really trying to self teach and watch the limited tutorials available online before having to come here with my questions. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
