Severe Frame Rate Stutter
I looked around and did not see any similar threads.

Brand new computer; 14900, 4090, 32 gigs of DDR5 @6000 mhz.

I get severe frame rate drops, from 75 fps, smooth, all of a sudden it will freeze or be real choppy for several seconds with indicated fps dropping as low as 2. If I am driving I am usually dead from a crash.

My computer is only a few days old. I know I should be getting better than 75 fps at 4K but I haven’t played around with settings yet. I am on a 1 gig pipe usually with a ping around 120.

Another anomaly I noted was when I go to an arsenal, it will freeze for several seconds showing a spinning blue circle.

I don’t think it is my computer as it plays Squad silky smooth.

Any ideas? Any thoughts on settings to play around with?

you have an intel 14th cpu, you should do definatly an bios update since there was problems with 13th and 14th cpu. it will break over time as i heard. so do an bios update.

and enable xmp 1 in bios. so your ram runs at the speed it should be.
you can check it with CPU-Z , open it, go to "Memory" and check the DRAM Frequenzy.
it should show 3000mhz. since it in dual slot. 2x3000mhz = 6000mhz.
if it shows lesser than 3000, for example 2200 or something like that, your ram doesent work correctly.
I solved it, I was dumb.

Brand new, top of the line computer and I installed the game on a five year old, external, mechanical HD. Installed on the internal SSD and issue gone.
good.
anyways, you should do what i told you above. its neccessary.
download cpuz and check at memory the dram frequency. it should show 3000mhz
or something close like 2999.7)
otherwise if it shows you like 2300 or 2500 what ever you need to enable xmp 1.

( its easy, just go into bios, and put it on 1.)

and the bios update, its also VERY! important.

"The 13th and 14th generation Intel CPUs, known as Raptor Lake, had stability issues that caused system crashes and potentially permanent damage. The root cause was faulty voltage regulation, which supplied too much voltage to the CPUs, leading to premature aging and instability.

Intel responded to these problems by extending the warranty of affected processors by two years and releasing BIOS updates to fix the faulty voltage regulation. These updates were made available by motherboard manufacturers and should be installed IMMEDIATLY to avoid further damage."

so do the update. its also easy.. check ur mainboard name, and download the newest bios version of it. put it on a clean usb, go into bios and update it.
(watch a youtube video to see how its done.)
dont be scared nothing will break.

hope i could help.
letme know

So after doing an extensive amount of research (I don’t mess with things like bios based on what some random dude tells me on the internet), I updated the bios as they were a couple of months old and then I did find the DRAM at like 2600 so enabled XMP 1. Now the DRAM is at 2992.7 MHz.

If my computer explodes I will send you the bill!
:D
you did everything right.
these 2 steps are neccesary. your bios is updated. so u dont have to worry about ur cpu gets cooked.
ur ram runs now at the speed it should be. 6000mhz.

glad i could help.

and for the future. you know how its done.
enjoy ur beast of machine.
