USB Mic Issue, (Solution)
If you're like me and have a USB mic and Arma only recognizes it for only a few minutes and it stops working ? well I found a solution for what ever reason this game don't like USB mic so you need to have a 3rd party app to make it work some people say to use VB-Audio, I recommend using Steel Series GG app, it creates a none USB connection with their mixer so Arma works perfectly.

I have no problem on my desktop using a condenser USB mic. However my ASUS Zephyrus g15's built in mic array does not work. It works great in Arma 3 and everything else.

Yep. Came here to talk about this in my other thread and figured why not post here also.

No matter what I did, the game would just not recognize my mic which is a trusty old Shure SM58 going into an audio interface which then connects to the computer via USB.

I kept seeing all these people saying “use Voicemeeter”, “Steelers” or whatever else, and no no no I thought - it shouldn’t be needed. After multiple hours of tinkering I caved and got Voicemeeter. And it works!

Though….i did tests with running VoiceMeeter into a DAW and it appears VM introduces a lot of noise to the audio, unfortunately. But it has built in comp/limiter/eq which is pretty nice.

TL;DR: running VoiceMeeter works for me.

So silly runaround here.. I’ve had the same issues for sometime, but with a lined in microphone. Tried voice meeter, worked for like one night and couldn’t figure it out after that. I enter the control panel to look out my recording devices and I’ve got 20 different voice meteer devices lmao and just don’t understand how to truly configure voice meeter and it be simple. Do you have a simple suggestion for configuring this? As an IT tech I feel dumb but man, hours of audio tb’ing kills me 😭

try vb cable then and uninstall voice meter should be way easier to setup.

i had the same issue i ended up using a 2nd different external sound card just for the mic
its kinda insane how many issues this game has with a variety of different mic´s

Vb cable? Okay I’ll have to look into that. Voice meeter opened up like seriously 7 different devices under sound an audio and was so confusing. I’ll have to try this I appreciate it man

Ridiculous. I've been a fan of the Arma series since day 1. The games have always had issues but this time around has been legendary. The ultrawide support is terrible, especially next to Arma 3. The mic issues and disconnect problems are more than frustrating. It's definitely the weaker game in the series.

I have zero problems with a usb mic. So it looks to be some other issue you're having with your particular setup? Maybe try turning off power saving on the usb ports and if that doesn't work, try a different usb port altogether.
