GPU Hang Issue

Up until three months ago I had no issues with this game and since then I get this 'GPU Hang' crash. Usually within 15 minutes of playing, sometimes less or a bit more. After that there is no playing anymore.


I have reinstalled the game multiple times, no mods are utilized anymore (only official servers if multiplayer), ensured drivers are up to date, changed virtually every setting one by one (going from lowest to best settings), gone back drivers all the way to 24 MAY (and each one in between before this issue came up) and finally messed with my GPU power management. This is the only game that crashes in my inventory (Cyberpunk, Starfield, Star Citizen, all play with no issues at highest settings).


I'm lost for what the issue is. Any other ideas? I feel crazy at this point! haha


CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X
RAM: 32
GPU: RTX 3070

1. A stupid question, whats your PSU?
2. Verify game files on steam.
3. Try to remove graphic drivers completely and after that install latest drivers
4. Run game with admin privileges.
5. Also, try to run the game in compatibility mode for Windows 7 or 8.1

Edit: Have you ever did some tweaking on your graphic card, and by that i mean overclocking?

1. PSU = EVGA 500 B1, 80+ 500W

No messing with my GPU. Too nervous too.

Please, do not remove your graphic card man

, i didnt said that before, just delete drivers from your PC and reinstall fresh ones.

And for the PSU, on official Nvidia site for base 3070 graphic card, they recommend 650W PSU , for the 3070Ti even 750W. So your 500W might be a problem here.

Interesting, never knew that could be the issue (Recommended PSU) as other games are not an issue....

I went back to MAY for Drivers and then went back to the current. You think I should do another patch of fresh installs on drivers before looking at the PSU solution?

PSU idea is just one of hundred possible solutions, doesn't mean it's going to solve your problem. My personal opinion is that 500W is not enough for your PC, I might be wrong. It's better to talk and consult with some PC expert in your area, in some store. They might help you. Do not listen to some random guy as me.
If you have changed graphic drivers and it wont work well, you don't need to do it again.

But again, if you have played all of the games from your main post and had zero problems, it might be related to the game itself.

Ok, i just got two "GPU Hang" errors today and i never experienced this before. NEVER!
It might be that last update making some issues with systems.

Run ArmaReforger_BE.exe on administrator mode. Had GPU hang since 1.1 came out and it fixed it for me.

i wouldnt bother trying to problem solve you pc. its a recurring issue for multiple people meaning its a problem with the game itself not our pc's. id love to say wait for an update that fixes it but ive waited over a year to play reforger expecting most of these kinks to be ironed out but i came to a game that cant run for more than an hour on a lot of peoples systems

Yeap, multiple people that i played with told me that they have similar problem, GPU Hang, with game crashing to desktop. Crashing constantly every day for 2-3 times. Those people also played with me on official vanilla servers, so no mods involved.

You can always try an older GPU driver. While the game is likely the root problem, any new game update might contain changes that cause more issues with one driver than another.

Cost nothing to try and can be reversed.
