I would try going here C:\Users\your username\Documents\My Games\ArmaReforger\profile\.save and move or delete anything in that folder and try again.
Server Name > Leave AS IS
Scenario > choose scenario (Server name will auto fill)
Players > 1
BattlEye > NO (single player local game so don't need it)
Third Person > NO (preference)
Keep Abandoned Vehicles (req to keep abandoned vehicles >only per session<)
Load any other desired mods
Bottom right > SAVE (advise using auto filled name)
Choose > Host Locally
After you have actually entered the game and are at the starting base, hit ESC and choose GameMaster. You will see a save icon at top. Choose that and save it.
After you have played your session, choose GameMaster and SAVE again before exiting. You can save over the first one and continue to save over that file each session.
Saved Load Outs require an Arsenal at base so until you build one that option will be non selectable. Arsenal is the first thing I build, create loadout, and save loadout in arsenal menu.
Keep Abandoned Vehicles will only work per session, so even though you saved the game, vehicles will not be saved. It only keeps them from vanishing during the session.
When returning to play again, go through the same steps of becoming local host. Once you are in the game, you choose GameMaster and then LOAD and select the saved game.
Take a screen capture of the screen where you are trying to save the game and post it here.
Here it is
I just tried Combat Arland in Experimental. It shows it auto saving at various points during progress. I completed two objective, die, left game, loaded game and hit resume arrow. It put me back at the main start point and the objectives I had completed were gone so it did save progress.
Is it not doing that for you?
It sounds like you have a write issue going on or some corrupt game files.
