What? Why are you quoting me, and then replying with this comment?
This makes the helicopter unflyable for me. I can't understand why they would make the mouse controls backwards, it defies reason, and logic.
"this early" = After 10 years of engine development, after ~3+ years of game development. :))
Consoles are good for selling numbers, but we loose lots of animation features because of them.
That's insane, If I can't invert my Y-axis I can't fly. Damn.
There seems to be a bug where the helicopter forward/backward mouse controls are inverted for some people. I reported the bug, if you are having the same problem, and want to add something to the ticket, you can find the ticket here.

Great thanks for this info. I'll try it and report if necessary.
My issue right now is, even though I don't have it bound to side to side mouse movement, it's still enabled somehow (tell me if I just overlooked the binding) and it's crazy sensitive. I don't see a mouse sensitivity option for flying specifically.
Took me three tries to complete the heli tutorial without crashing, and it took me almost 3 or 4 minutes just to line up the landing pad correctly. I'm kind of embarrassed about it.
However, I don't like that you can't move the camera (in 3rd person), it's way too high above the helicopter, and it makes it very difficult to judge the pitch of the aircraft. This also creates a feeling that the helicopter is always nosediving. I really wish we could move the camera like we can in Arma 3.
Yes, I'm aware that you can free look, but I'm talking about moving the camera with the number pad like you can in Arma 3.
