Currently using Audio Technica ATH-M50x. So far they feel good, sound better than the Sennheisers, but no mic, if you need a headset with a mic then this isn’t for you. I use a trusty ole Shure SM58 mic plugged into an audio interface which then connects to the PC via USB. It’s insane how crappy all those expensive headset mics sound. They’re all tiny diaphragm and don’t/can’t capture the low end of your voice. I’ve only heard a select few that were actually decent.
TLDR: $150 for a pair of ATH-M50x if you don’t need a “gaming headset” with a mic attached.
TL;DR: Truthear x Crincle Reds ~$55, FiFine AM8 dynamic mic ~$55, and a budget mic arm from Target (~$40) puts you right at 150 and you get superb audio and mic quality.
these have been my fav headset for 5 years now. been rocking the same pair since 2022 and they are just as good as they were the day i got them. only 100 dollars for years if great audio is a deal i wouldn't pass on
