Arma Reforger

Noob Supply Runner here.
I'm new player who has recently started playing this game on the PS5, I've always sucked at shooting games, but I am decent at racing games with realistic physics and I love driving games such as Euro Truck Simulator 2, so when I learned Arma Reforger simulators logistics the players have to carry out themselves, I become interested in trying the game, and I'm absolutely loving the game, because I have a role I know I can do well and still contribute in a meaningful way. I also like base building so when I'm not running supplies I'm trying to fortify bases to make them as hard as possible for the enemy to take.

One question I want to ask, can you take supplies from say the main base, transport it to another recently captured base and get exp from offloading it, I'm a solo player so going to supply points is too dangerous for me, but if I can take supplies from a base that has a lot of it to one that has barely any, that would be much safer.

All connected bases via antenna have a gradual uptick in supplies over time, i'm liable to get this wrong so take with a pinch of salt but IIRC.

At a non objective location a base will generate +5 every 'tick' for every connection made to it, objective locations and the main base generate +15 every 'tick' for every outside connection.

Basically the important places generate more passive supplies over time.

Broadly speaking, taking supplies from the main base to a forward base is beneficial, especially if the supply cap at main has been reached, you never really want to be maxed out there since it's free supplies your team is missing out on ... just be mindful that people tend to build helipads at the main base to buy helicopters both of which are very expensive so just pay attention, if there is another non objective base in range behind the front lines with a full trucks work of supplies at it, it's typically a better idea to go there instead since no one will care even if they notice.

I said Main Base an example, if I take supplies from any base that has a ton of it to a base with barely any, would I get exp from offloading it.

Yes.

You get XP wherever you deliver to, but it's best to deliver from well behind the line from bases with good supply to bases at the line so people can start to spawn there. Use the radio to check that the base you're delivering to is safe for trucks.

At the end of the day though XP is pretty irrelevant as it is only persistent on the server you are playing on. If that server resets or crashes then you start again from scratch. There is no 'global' XP.

If you like doing supply runs heads up there’s a bunch of hidden supply spots on the map that aren’t marked on the map but if you google it you’ll find maps of them

You want to rush Sergeant ASAP to place down Living Quarters to halve supply costs. Experience will also be more relevant once they lock weapons behind rank in the Arsenal and introduce mortars and attack helicopters.

you beeing solo is the first mistake.
the fact that you say you cannot go to supply depos makes no sense.
once a supply depo is cleared there is nothing you hindering going there.
just rob one base of supplies to bring it to another is by far not always the right move and sometimes may even bad very bad.

i think you get xp based on distance of load to unload.

if you would build out useless bases you would be just a waste to the team.
supplies usualy are needed at the front lines the most or very close to them.
(there may are expections but thats the reason there is comms simply ask where they are needed to be anywhere of any kind efficient, drving to supply depos is a must)
building out a base far behind does not make a lot of sense unless you know this one has actual strategic value.

Gaining XP is essential if you want to build good bases and spawn armed vehicles and helis.

This is fair enough, but if you are only doing transport then XP and ranking is pretty meaningless at the moment. Besides, four supply runs and you are Sergeant pretty much.

But, you have a fair point if you want to go and do something else after a few transport runs.

I like to do supply runs to gain rank as well as being able to build living quarters so once i reach Sgt. ill continue to do some more supply runs to upgrade bases. I wish the vanilla helicopters held more supplies like in the wcs servers because I find doing helicopter supply deliveries to be more rewarding and fun. As well as advantageous if a base needs supplies in a hurry.

Could view this guide and look under "Cache Locations" to see all the hidden static supply spawn locations on Everon/Arland, even has the amount of supplies listed at these places that not a lot of people would know unless they discover them by accident
