What's with the AI?

How come the game had such a relatively good AI in the ArmA franchise, even from the first ArmA game all things considered to now being pretty much unable to do anything? I can't even get them to drive a car 2 meters among other things. ArmA used to be such a amazing PvE game (alongside PvP yes)

Reforger is a test bed for the new engine and still in development. the AI can be pretty amazing some areas and awful in others

I'm not sure which arma games you played but i have nightmares of telling AI squadmates to drive somewhere in Arma 2 & 3..

Even on an open and straight road i would eventually lose one and find them flipped against a tree or just driving parallel to the road instead of on it.

I spent countless hours zeus'ing for my friends and never had any issues with them, Antistasi is a nice showcase of good AI useage. Sure they sometimes drive a tank into a tree but it works for the most part.

In reforger they for the most part cant even... Well... Move the car to begin with.

It's a test bed for arma but the AI is still limited to what older games can do, i'm surprised they couldn't at least give us the basics instead of the skeleton that it is now.

I got an AI to enter a truck and drive me to a location, they did a pretty good job, about as well as any human driver I would say.
Getting them into the truck in the first place can be a challenge, I think it only worked because I had only 1 AI recruited.

Should have see someone on utube making a mission with pop driving on road until they about to start suddenly ai crash the car ON STRAIGHT ROAD and everyone crashing on each other on ARMA 3
