Online play vs story mode?

I am new to PC gaming and online gaming in general. I noticed that a lot of the games if not, all of the games available are online type play. Meaning you have to join a server, and play in a group, etc. Is there story mode available where you can play by yourself? I understand that online gaming is the new thing but I enjoy playing by myself and not in a group setting. I noticed that a lot of the games dont have this option. I have to play online and join a server. Is single play available?

Not really, it's an online game unless you want to test out the few scenarios solo and do sabotage missions in Combat Ops.

damm that sucks. i remember the old pc games, used to have a story mode, kinda like GTA. it has the story mode where you can play solo then it also have the online mode. i am in the minority here but i dont like to play in groups/teams. kinda like to explore the game solo.

The older ARMA titles did this with some single player, if Reforger is getting a campaign is unknown but there are still updates coming so who knows. In 3 days we're getting https://x.com/ArmaPlatform/status/1904186620628066365

It's also worth mentioning that you can buy the game and refund it within 2h if you want to "demo" it.

Yes...kinda..
Theres a coop pve mode - Combat Ops - where random missions are generated. The game is balanced for a 6 man team I believe, but you have unlimited respawns so it can be solo'd.
I play it a lot and it's great fun, but it's not a story mode as such, no cinematic or anything, just spawn in, do your missions, exfil - that's it.

There are many people that play Arma as a single player, and that's why reforger is so disappointing.
