Maybe, more structured teams on the other side ... .

drip kiddies go to US team for muh drip, big brain chads play Soviet for the superior weapon systems and mi-8 chungus cow.

Almost all players on american side play similar, they love to use grenade launchers and call that a main attack tactics. Seen it too many times. I am not sure, do they don't have more weapons to choose?

new players tend to join american team. so there's more TK's and griefing, so players with more hours tend to join soviet team. the full auto low recoil AK, RPG being reloadable and faster supply truck help.

Americans want drip while pilots want their helicopter first thing in the server. So half the time the americans are in spawn still while russians already capped like 8 points

honestly, my biggest reason I dislike playing Americans is the logi truck, the American one just feels awful to drive to.

thats exactly why I join american side sometimes to try and get a win with the side that generally is weaker.

I've seen both sides win, nothing is 100 percent.

generally the veterans go to the soviet side because others have said noobs go to american side and theres a higher chance of BS happening.

the best players stay away from NATO, and Russian equipment is superior in game.

Jokes aside this is often the case in various games and gamemodes, even King of The Hill on ArmA 3 for example. It's usually because newer players are often more attracted to the US/Nato side of things so they are just less skilled in general.

I don't think it has anything to do with the equipment myself

M60 is great, M21 is better than the SVD in a few ways, the carbine is at least as good if not better than the AK.

russians have worse UAZ where the humvee is a helicopter murderer and just superior in every way.

americans have better backpacks and the ability to go even lighter load than russian (flexibility) but have worse armor, this is also offset by losing the rig on the russian side.

russian logi trucks are better (especially the buggy reverse gear) and BTR of course, the huey is more agile but less capable gunnery and health.

just because its not 100 percent symmetrical doesn't mean the americans are worse.

M16A2 is booty cheeks without noob tube and is inferior to the AK imo, but the optic for the american carbine is superior, the M21 has a bigger magazine and AP rounds like the SVD. the SAW is an oversized RPK-74 (best used mounted or prone) but has 200 round box mag.

I can murder russians or I can murder americans with either loadout, all while wearing no armor at all which to me is superior than the titanium plate, I value mobility more - just don't get shot and you won't need any armor.

Yeah i agree with you. Both sides have their own little niche with their strengths and weaknesses but no faction is objectively better than the other. Both are pretty balanced.

The biggest problems when playing the americans was always that they dont like to capture objective and instead just fight over in a meatgrinder somewhere in the center of the frontline. Thats why i usually like to take the spawn truck and use it to direct attacks.

I intentionally stop going for victory points sometimes as the soviets just because I don't want the match to end in an hour after they started.

I kinda like the idea of modded servers where you have to capture all the victory points to actually win a match, kinda stops the just rushing early for all the important positions and ending the match really early.

the best games are when you literally deplete all the supply for one side (organically) and they lose not one where you let off the pressure on purpose imo.

99 percent of the time I'm playing to win, the other 1 percent I go meatgrinder farm kills somewhere - but the strength of 1 dude skirmishing and killing 30x his supply worth at Arleville shouldn't be overlooked.

It should be pretty obvious if you've ever joined the american team. I wouldn't chalk it up to a difference in equipment because for your typical rifleman the american loadouts seem much better. You're far more likely to encounter console players who are playing their first milsim style game on the American team. I've spoken to many and they all say stuff like "I'd never play as the russians" or go off on a tangent about how much they hate Russia and communism and drag in current events. These same people are terrible at the game because from my experience they're older single dudes who despite rping like they're in the military still play very casually and lack any capability when the bullets start flying. Add onto that the propensity for them to pick comically ridiculous loadouts to fill every role under the sun, and the sheer quantity of people who literally only want to fly the Huey around to pretend to be Arma Pilot and otherwise contribute nothing, and it becomes rather apparent why the americans despite often having double the players get bent almost every time.

I been going on for years making fun of the milsim guys who only want to fight AI and never any real human players - reforger drops where PvP is the mainstay and they all call it a tech demo and are waiting for Arma 4. hilarious.
