What is the best way to play this game?
I am currently playing this game on my laptop using my mouse and keyboard but it is kinda difficult playing like this. I am used to playing games with a controller but from what I have researched is that most of these "war" games are not really compatible with using a controller? How true is this? I want to enjoy playing these type of war games but I am not used to playing it with a keyboard and a mouse. I am new to PC gaming so I just wanted to see if there's a better way of playing war games like this one?

How are yall able to play comfortably with a keyboard and mouse? The arrow buttons are towards the right side on the keyboard and since I am right handed, the mouse will also be on the right side. So I am using my left hand to work the arrow buttons while using my right hand for the mouse. It's just weird playing like this. I can't really move that well using the arrow buttons. I would prefer to use a controller where the arrow buttons are on the left side

I plugged in a ps4 controller for giggles and it recognized the controls even replaced keyboard keys tooltip in bottom left with controller buttons, im sure if you have an xbox or ps5 controller youll be more comfortable playing!
I think it just comes down to repetition as even when we first started playing any video game we're all terrible at it but you gradually get better with time, also the main movement controls are WASD since number buttons on top are used to switch to different items in hotbar/inventory even the action key to interact with environment or objects is F, think of the arrow keys to move but in the left side for WASD

I use wasd for movement. Arma Reforger is built with a controller in mind so you can try that if it doesn't work out for you.

I just tried using the WASD keys and it does work better this way! I never knew about this lol. Thanks for the suggestion. It is easier now to play using the WASD buttons for movements but I still prefer using a controller like a ps, xbox type controller.

Yes, I just found out about using the WASD buttons for movements. It is a lot easier now using the WASD buttons. I tried using a ps4 controller before and it wouldnt work. Maybe i didnt have it connected correctly. I will try using the ps4 controller again and see if it works.

My hands have injuries, so the controller is a godsend. Apart from not being able to snap a 180 in a fraction of a second ( not realistic movement anyway ), I fly around the game with absolutely no issues. Plus I've always preferred using a controller in shooting games. I think the grip and trigger feels more connective.

The PC master race isn't what it once was apparently :'(

Just so you know for the future: WASD is the standard movement controls for pretty much every PC game known to man for the last couple decades at least. So learn it now and it'll be just like learning a controller analog stick for movement.
With your feet.
