And no. The worst thing is people (especially squeakers) constantly talking to their friend over platoon chat or grown men bickering and telling each other to eff them self over and over.
Last night I made the mistake of aiming down my sight to quick check if my red dot was on. There were 2 friendlies standing in front of me. We were at our captured base. Dude thinks I’m going to shoot him so what does he do? Flat out mows me down while complaining about me pointing my gun at him (I aimed at the ground below his feet; I actually do have weapon etiquette) and then I GET BANNED OVER IT because they decided to vote to kick?!?!?!
Get the fffffff out of here with that.
Have you tried joining another server ?
I'd imagine the only people not wanting them free are those who want to profit from them without actually caring that it would split the player base into those who have and those who don't. Anyone with half a brain can see why that would be a bad thing, so it is the right decision to not have them.
Imagine 100 servers, each with their own paid individual mod requirements and 100 different paid mods. Nah, f that!
Hey Fraud Howard, this isn't Skyrim; go away.
This game could definitely use more content, but having gone through loads of modded servers now, I have to say I am thoroughly disappointed with how much "content" bloatware is just standard. No, I don't want 40 pages of drip, most of it garbage, and 2/3 of which is just repeats in different trash camo patterns. 35 M4 and Ak variants each, most of which are identical except for attachment skins is not the play either. No wonder some of these servers crash so much!
7 different helis, differing only in their payload (most of which are garbage anyway; do you seriously need heat seeking missiles in your little bird?), 12 different humvees on top of the vanilla selection, 8 tigrs, 9 m113s, and so on; this is just bloat. Add a new gun to a vehicle, or don't bother. Performance will improve, I promise.
You mentioned you have a "private server with a set player base;" that's code for "we pretend we milsim by shooting bots and beep booping on the radio real cool like in our tiger print panti- I mean camo."
You keep mentioning these "basic features," and I have to wonder what you consider to be a feature; based on who you are, I wouldn't be surprised if being able to fold the flank mirrors on a car is a "basic feature" that bohemia really needs to spend time developing.
Here's a question for you: if you really need save game states, "milsim mirrors" and a private server to scam people on, why don't you go play arma 3? It has 12 years of "content" for you, all 4 jets, 2 tanks, 2 apcs, and all the beep booping milsim ♥♥♥♥ you could desire. There's even a few thousand mods right up your alley! Please, check that game out man, I'm sure you'll really enjoy it.
Last night my group was just arguing among each other, i haven't played the game in a while so i forgot what key makes you change the radio frequency so after after a few minutes i got sick of the constant bickering and just dropped my radio.
I guess I'll stick to flicking the platoon channel so I can actually hear the game.
