Guess I can wait for Arma 4. R doesn't appeal to me now, and had doubts.
Personally, I had the same feeling myself and held back. Main thing that was pushing me away was lack of Single Player Scenario's as I enjoy my good chill session alone while enjoying a story. Multiplayer to me is simply just a bonus on top.
During the Xmas Sales last year though, I did finally take the plunge to see how it was Developing.
My initial reaction was the "wobble" on the movement, have been seeing it way too much in Games the past several years, and I can't say I'm the biggest fan as it can make the Game feel extremely clunky at times.
Apart from that, I have enjoyed my time messing around with Multiplayer [despite the wait times], and I haven't really come across a great deal of things which have put me off. Personal opinion of course.
I still craved some Single Player stuff, so I decided to learn and make my own through the Reforger Tools in Scenario Frameworks which you also get with the Game. It's not a simple system to use, and especially coming from someone who knows nothing about this stuff like myself.
However, I have to say I have 100hrs in Arma Reforger, and over 500hrs in Scenario Frameworks so I guess my honest enjoyment with my purchase, has simply been learning how to use their system to create my own content.

I'd say, depending on your personal preference, I'd still have it on your Wishlist and maybe check out where Development is up to during the next Sale.
Definitely waiting for 4. :).
If it ever goes on a decent sale or whatever, no harm in getting Reforger and popping in there every once in a while for something a little more fast-paced. Whether it gets better or worse as development continues is a crapshoot I guess, but it's definitely only gonna get expanded as time goes on.
Reforger is like my casual little after-hours unwind on a weekday, whereas ArmA 2 and 3 are the weekend projects when I really have time to get into a milsim.
why is the narrators voice blown out in that video
Because it's just something I've whipped together with no experience. The Audio has been adjusted since the Video.
There is a vanilla mode in Reforger which is similiar to Antistasi, just way smaller. Although Antistasi is officialy coming to Reforger at some point, they announced it some months ago.
If you are looking for Singleplayer content or organized PVE Milsim groups then it's Arma 3.
If you are looking for PVP Action then Reforger all the way, Reforger is a great game.
Other servers are not worth it
