Hows the Singleplayer?

The store page doesn't go in depth about the singleplayer, but Reforger has the SP tag. So I'd like to know how the game is single player mission, squad command and campaign wise. The info online seems pretty sparse, so I'd be happy to get told.

My main way to play Arma is in singleplayer. I love ordering my AI squaddies around, commanding tanks and downloading/making missions.

If you are primarily interested in single player, then I do not recommend this game.

There isn't any real single player in the game. There is no sp game saving system, no campaign, and the AI commanding is extremely limited, and doesn't work very well, to the point that it's pretty much useless in sp.

The only reason this gets a 'pass' as a singleplayer game, because you CAN make something yourself using games master (effectively Zeus from Arma 3), and there are a few things on the workshop like overthrow ... but outta the box? there's nothing official aside from the training. You can play the PvPvE and the Coop game modes alone ... but they are not balanced for it. ll say this game is a disappointment from a single player point of view.

I don't know about the actual single player option in the game but I run a dedicated server and have either Arvin or Everon Conflict running 24/7. When my friends are not with me, it is pretty much single player and I use the AI extensively to capture a base or two and have them built up nicely for when my friends join in again.

Nope.
Arma 3 is the past. Reforger is the walk to the future.

I agree, reforger is the future, this is why the future of the Arma series looks so bleak.

This is not a game.. it's a test bench, they made this clear multiple times!

This is not a game.. it's a test bench, they made this clear multiple times!

Go to the store page and show me where it says its a test game or early access or anything.
You wont find, it says its a game. Thats how potential buyers see it.
And yes, few knows the fact that this is a game to test new engine and prepare for Arma4.

I loaded the game this morning and rather than jumping on our dedicated server, I chose the PLAY option and went about 3 hours of single player Conflict. So yes there is single player.

Thing to do is buy and try. Watch your time and before you exceed 2 hours of play, decide if you want to keep it or maybe wait and try it again later, in which case you request a refund.

Cost to buy and try if you refund.. $0. No logic in not trying.

"Arma Reforger is not Arma 4. Bohemia Interactive has made that abundantly clear during the slightly confusing rollout of the new entry in the storied military simulation series, which hit early access on Steam last week. Instead, it’s meant to be a "test bed" for features and design choices that may or may not be integrated in a future numbered franchise entry" they use reforger to test stuff in the game engine they'll be using moving forward, since Arma 4 will use Enfusion (which reforger uses), and 1-3 used Real Virtuality, so it's a test bed/test bench and not a full game
