How to save locally hosted

Hey everyone, me and a friend are playing Combat Ops Everon, but we want to know how to save our progress so the next time we can resume. Seems we can't figure it out.

There's not really a save function in the game currently unless you are running a persistent server with a password there's sort of no way to do it. The way the game currently saves actually broke my overthrow mod play through and now I don't actually know how to reset it so I can actually play normally again. Currently I'm stuck having to spawn a character with game master every time that I die.
